Running Views
Running by the East River today, I noticed something I had never seen before. Most of this path features wrought-iron railings to keep pedestrians from plunging into the river. Just north of Gracie Mansion, there is an area where the railings have a wind-mill motif (a reference to NYC's Dutch history?). I've probably passed by them close to a hundred times, but never once before noticed this fancy detail until today. (Just one of the many reasons I prefer running outside!)
